| URGENT. Finishing The Task | 22 days to go!!! | ||||
Dear Andy, This is an appeal in order to help us all finish the task we have worked on over the last 19 months!
We have collected more than 390,000 signatures and there will now be a referendum held in 2009, on the question “Should a smack, as part of good parental correction, be a criminal offence in New Zealand?” A recent NZ Herald poll held 2 weeks ago showed that 86% of people still said “NO”. And a recent poll showed that 6% of the nation said they would be voting on this issue alone and would vote for the Party that will repeal this.
Neither National nor Labour are committed to repeal this undemocratic law despite the signatures collected and the results. Therefore, to achieve our goal, one hurdle remains to get a group of men and women into Parliament from the only party which is committed to ending the criminalisation of good parents, and appointing a Royal Commission to understand and address the wider causes of family breakdown, family violence, and child abuse.
The Kiwi Party is that party.
We have over 300,000 names and addresses of the people who signed the petition and our goal is to write to every one of these concerned Kiwis letting them know that we are that party! They must understand that if they want their signature to mean anything, and their voice to be heard, the Kiwi Party needs their party vote. Would you be willing to address 200-250 envelopes (more, or less, as you are able), insert the folded letter we send you, and post them for us? We are asking you to cover the cost of envelopes and stamps, ($100-150) to make this goal achievable. You could get a few friends together and make an event of it, having lots of fun while you do it, but all the time knowing that you are playing an incredibly important part in shaping the future of our nation. A small investment for the future.

Time is running out. We need your immediate response by email, and we will get the number of names and addresses and letters to you so that you can make a difference! Just hit “Reply” and send us the message “I’m in! 200 / 300 / 500 / 1000 please” – depending how many you can do. PLEASE also give us your regular mailing address. This is where we send our pre-printed letters to. We will email you a pdf file of the addresses you have ordered, and upon completion we ask you to delete the file.
Based on legal advice we have received regarding the Privacy Act we must ensure that the addresses are only used for this one letter and must be destroyed once you have finished. We will give further instructions once we hear from you. The voice of the people must, and will, be heard with your help.
